2019: Put together one of the best seasons ever by a Jackrabbit relief pitcher … led team with seven saves and ranked third on the squad with five wins … struck out 47 batters in 34 1/3 innings for an average of 12.32 K’s per nine innings pitched – the third-best ratio in program history … his 1.31 earned run average also ranked as the third-best in a season by a Jackrabbit … shared team lead with 20 appearances and allowed a run in only three of those outings … limited opposing hitters to a .138 batting average … opened season by striking out two in two innings of series finale against UT Martin (2/17) … credited with first collegiate win after tossing two scoreless innings against Florida International (2/23) … recorded first career save by retiring the final batter of the game in series finale at UA Little Rock (3/10) … struck out four batters over 2 2/3 innings to earn win at Oral Roberts (3/23) … combined on shutout in 3-0 win at Omaha by pitching final 2 1/3 innings for save … fanned season-high six batters over 2 2/3 innings to pick up win versus Purdue Fort Wayne (4/4) … five of the six outs he recorded in save of series opener against Oral Roberts were via the strikeout … each of his final five saves covered at least two innings … pitched a total of three scoreless innings over two appearances at Summit League Baseball Championship (5/23-24)
2018: Served as a left-handed specialist out of the bullpen during his first season with the Jackrabbits … made 19 appearances – all in relief – but did not factor into any decisions … did not allow a run in his first six appearances, totaling 4 1/3 innings … struck out season-high two batters in two innings of work at Northern Colorado (3/11) … hurled 1 1/3 scoreless innings with a strikeout at Minnesota (4/25) … matched season high with two innings pitched at Wichita State (5/9) … final appearance of season came in Summit League Baseball Championship against Oral Roberts (5/26)
BEFORE SDSU: Excelled in all phases of the game during a standout prep career at Martensdale-St. Mary’s High School ... earned All-State Super Team honors as an outfielder from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association during his senior year ... also was a second-team academic all-state honoree ... batted .485 with 57 runs batted in, 16 doubles, four triples and a home run in leading team to 41-5 record and title-game appearance at state tournament ... was 20-of-22 on stolen base tries ... on the mound, went 6-0 and tallied 80 strikeouts against only 17 bases on balls in 40 1/3 innings ... allowed only 10 hits all season, limiting opponents to a .073 batting average ... three-time all-conference and two-time all-district pick ... racked up 96 strikeouts and only 23 walks in 51 innings pitched en route to a 6-2 record as a junior ... also was an all-conference selection in basketballÂ
