Evan Berliner is in his second season as a member of the South Dakota State baseball coaching staff, serving as the first-base coach and working with the team's hitters.
During the 2002 season, the Jackrabbits recorded a Summit League-best 62 home runs, which was their highest total since the 2010 campaign.

Berliner previously spent two years each as an assistant coach at Ottawa University (Ariz.) and Hillsdale College in Michigan. At Ottawa, Berliner was part of a program that qualified for the National Christian College Athletic Association World Series in its very first season.

During his tenure at Hillsdale, Berliner was promoted to director of baseball operations in April 2020.

Berliner played collegiately at Elmhurst College in Illinois, where he was an infielder. A three-year letterman, he set career highs for batting average (.298), home runs (2) and runs batted in (20) during his senior season in 2017.
A native of Highland Park, Illinois, Berliner received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Elmhurst in 2017, and completed his MBA in leadership from Ottawa in 2019.
