Emily Paull joined the cross country and track and field programs as a graduate assistant coach in August of 2016.
Prior to accepting the graduate assistant role with SDSU, Paull competed in both cross country and track and field the previous four years at Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois. She helped lead the team to three consecutive indoor conference championships and back-to-back outdoor and cross country conference championships before graduating in May of 2016.Â
Paull, a two-time all-American in the Steeplechase, earned conference Track Athlete of the Meet and Runner of the Year in cross country multiple times. Overall, she graduated from Aurora University with 13 school records and 13 Northern Athletic Conference records.
In her time at Aurora, Paull also excelled in the classroom. She majored in health science and minored in coaching and physiology, graduating as a five-time USTFCCCA Academic All-American and CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American. She also took on an assistant coaching role under head coach Ryan Chapman during her final semester. She assisted in the recruiting process and coached mainly distance events.
