Joe Davidson joins the SDSU staff as the technical coordinator with 10+ years of coaching experience in college volleyball.Â
Davidson comes to SDSU after having spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at North Central College in Illinois, where he coached six All-Conference selections, one Defensive Player of the Year, and the second All-American in program history,
He also helped lead North Central to their first conference tournament semi-final in 10 years. Before his time at North Central, Davidson served as an assistant coach at North Dakota and Northern Illinois.Â
During his one season at UND, he coached one All-Summit League performer and the first two professional volleyball players in North Dakota program history.Â
During his time at Northern Illinois, he coached eight All-MAC players, four All-Freshman team members, 2022 MAC Defensive Player of the Year (Franci Bertucci), a regular-season championship in 2015 and a conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance in 2016. He also had 48 different Academic All-MAC selections in his time in DeKalb.
