South Dakota State got 17 points from both Ben Beran and Luke Geiver, but Todd Klostermann scored 22 points, including a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line, and 19 points from Brett Cain in an 82-56 Wildcats win in the second game of the Burger King Classic.
The Jackrabbits fall to 2-9 with the loss, while Wayne State improves to 4-5 on the season.
The game started with 3-pointers from Steve Holdren and Geiver that gave the Jacks an early 6-0 lead, but the Wildcats came back to force the first of six ties at 10-10 on a Brett Watson layup less than five minutes into the game.
Seven lead changes would follow before the Wildcats took a 32-30 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Jackrabbits would tie the game one final time at 34-all with 18:36 left in the game, but the Wildcats broke the tie with a 3-pointer from Troy Malone, and never trailed again, building a lead as large as 28 points in the half.
