Freshman Mark Sandager set career bests in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events. In the 100 freestyle, Sandager finished tied for second with teammate Mark Garrigues with a time of 49.42. Sandager would also place second as he completed the 200 freestyle at 1:48.20. To cap his night off, Sandager swam the fastest lap for any Jackrabbit in the 400 team relays at 23.09.
A trio of Jackrabbits ended up placing second in three different events. Freshman Andrew Martin finished the 500 freestyle at 4:54.66, nearly 10 second better then his previous best time this season. Junior Josh Mueller was the top Jacks finisher in the 200 butterfly posting a time 2:04.54. First year Jackrabbit Blake Gipson finished the 200 breaststroke at 2:16.79
Freshman diver Patrick Heyen from Lincoln, Neb. was the top finisher in the 1-meter dive scoring 204.30 points.
The SDSU men's next dual is Saturday against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay at 1 p.m.
