SPRINGFIELD, Mo. ? Missouri State's Scott Carroll allowed just one run over six innings to help the Bears down South Dakota State, 11-1, in college baseball action Saturday afternoon at Hammons Field.
With the win, MSU brought its record to 8-7, while SDSU dropped to 9-11 overall.
SDSU scored its lone run of the game in the second inning.
Craig Parry, a junior from Colstrip, Mont., led off the inning with a single to right field. He later scored on a fielding error after advancing to third on a wild pitch.
Missouri State blew the game open in the fourth with seven runs. The Bears pushed the lead to 11-1 in the sixth, scoring four times on two walks, a single and two doubles.

Matt Bowman kept Missouri State off the board until the fourth inning, while Carroll struck out seven and walked one to improve to 2-0.
MSU pitching has not allowed an earned run in the first two games of the series.
Bowman lost his second decision of the season, falling to 1-2. He struck out two and walked two.
The two teams are scheduled to play the last game of the three-game series Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
