TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? Ryan Bond homered twice as 
Bond led off the bottom of the first inning to give 
SDSU had tied the game in the second inning on a Tony Martin bunt single that scored Nick Adams.
The Jackrabbits cut into the deficit in the eighth inning before their rally came up short. Martin doubled with one out and scored on pinch-hitter Tyson Fisher's single to center field. After Korby Mintken singled and Tim Hanigan was hit by a pitch to load the bases, ISU reliever Ada Lindsay struck out Jake Rogers to end the inning.
Both teams stranded 14 runners in the game. 
The Sycamores out-hit SDSU 11-10. Martin, Mintken and Matt Zabel each had two hits for the Jackrabbits, while Dane Brumagin was 3-for-5 for 
Ryan Hayes worked the first seven innings for 
Bess suffered his first loss of the season as his record evened at 1-1.
