MACOMB, Ill.-- The South Dakota State University women's tennis team won four of the six singles matches Saturday afternoon to pick up a 4-2 victory over Chicago State at the WIU indoor facility.
The Jackrabbits used victories at the No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles slots to defeat the Cougars. No doubles matches were played.
Jen Sondreal put the Jacks on the board in singles competition blanking?Jennifer Morris?in two-sets by a 6-0, 6-0 score. Caitlin Brannen followed with a two-set 6-0, 6-0 victory over?Ulanda Fulford?at No. 4 singles. After?Carrie Jansen?upended Nia Randall, 6-0, 6-0, sophomore Amy Albrecht closed out singles play winning by forfeit.
On Friday, South Dakota State?dropped a 4-2 match?to Western Illinois?in Macomb.
In singles play, Sondreal downed Constanza Camacho, 6-4, 6-4, while Branned defeated Stephanie Baumer, 6-4, 0-6, 11-9.
SDSU, 4-9, will next be in action April 20 against Sioux Falls. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Courts.
