GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The South Dakota State women's tennis team was swept 7-0 by North Dakota Saturday afternoon.

"Today wasn't the greatest for the women," Ffion Davies said. "We really lacked energy and motivation. We were definitely distracted today and our minds were elsewhere! We need to get together and refocus before we start playing conference matches."

Laura Romero and Katerina Tretyakova won 6-3 at No. 3 doubles, but it wasn't enough as the Fighting Hawks took No. 1 and No. 2 to win the doubles point.

Morgan Brower dropped a close 3-set match (3-6, 6-3, 10-4) at No. 3.

The Jacks return to action next Thursday for the first conference match of the season against Western Illinois in Tulsa, Okla.
