BROOKINGS, S.D. ? The season-opening soccer match between the South Dakota State Jackrabbits and the Northern Iowa Panthers ended in a 1-1 draw Friday night at
SDSU started the scoring 32 minutes into the first period when Tory Schiltgen scored a goal that was assisted by Kellyn Farrell.
The game was tied after the second period and then there were two 10 minute overtime periods played, with no scoring by either team.
For the game SDSU recorded 17 shots and
Kellyn Farrell led the Jackrabbits with seven shots including two shots on goal. Kelsey Worcester, Kaitlin Justice and Schiltgen each had one shot on goal for SDSU.
Laura Wagner led the Panthers with eight shots and three shots on goal. Ericka O'Meara, Seubert, Hochstedler and Colleen Gallagher recorded one shot on goal each.
Nicole Lograsso was the goalkeeper for the Jackrabbits and saved six of the seven shots on goal. Heidi O'Mara was the Panthers' goalkeeper and had five saves on six shots.
