Stripling paces Jacks at Hoosier Duals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ? The South Dakota State wrestling team opened its dual season at the Hoosier Duals Saturday, posting a 1-3-1 record on the afternoon.
The Jackrabbits were led by senior heavyweight Jason Stripling (Minneota, Minn,) who went a perfect 5-0, including a pin.
In the first match of the morning, SDSU picked up its fiirst dualsvictory of the season by defeating Cumberlands (Ky.), 21-18. In the second match, the Jacks faced the host school Indiana and fell 46-3.
In the afternoon session, the Jackrabbits picked up five wins against Liberty (Va.), but it wasn't enough as they fell , 25-21. SDSU then tied Ohio 21-all before dropping its final match to Rutgers 37-6.
Freshman Scott Elliot (Derby, Kan.) went 3-0 while Dustin Walraven (Huron, S.D.) posted a 3-2 record on the day to help the Jacks. Walraven also notched two pins to lead the Jacks.
The Jacks return to action at the Cliff Keen Duals in Las Vegas, Nev. on Dec. 5.
