Lincoln, Neb. -- Sasha Porter set the school record in 1-meter diving as the South Dakota State University women's swimming and diving team fell to the University of Nebraska 182-110 on Saturday afternoon.
Two days after teammate Breanna Torkelson broke her own school record in the event against South Dakota, Porter tallied 247.35 points to finish third. Porter won her first diving event at Nebraska back in 2007.
Senior Katie Budahl continued to shine in breaststroke events this season as she swept both the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 5.14 seconds and the 200 breaststroke in 2:15.92. Budahl remains
perfect on the season winning all six 200 breaststroke events that she has
competed in this season and her last seven overall.
Alexandra Hoffman was victorious in the 500 freestyle finishing in 5:16.47. The senior also won the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.12.
Jessica Ferley, a sophomore from Rapid City, clocked in at 1:02.22 to win the 100 butterfly.
The Jacks were winners in the final event of the meet as Budahl, Christina Gerometta, Rachel Musser and Ashley Valdez captured the 200 freestyle relay title in 1:42.98
The next meet for the SDSU women will be from Jan. 2-9 when they will travel to St. Petersburg, Fla. for their annual winter training trip.
