ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The South Dakota State University women's swimming team won all nine events in an unscored, long course meet against Westminster (Pa.) during the Jacks annual winter trainning trip on Monday.
The first event of the day saw the 200 medley relay team of Jessica Ferley, Emily Tschetter, Ashley Valdez and Alexandra Hoffman place first at 2 minutes, 13.49 seconds.
Valdez and Ferley would team with senoirs Katie Budahl and Sara Olenich to close the meet with a winning 200 freestyle relay time of 2:08.85.
Ferley would also win the 200 backstroke with a finish of 1:13.27.
Hoffman, a junior from Eureka, S.D., would go on to win two individual events with times of 29.62 seconds in the 50 freestyle and 1:04.96 in the 100 freestyle.
In the other freestyle event, Christina Gerometta won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:15.93, nine second better than second place.
Tschetter, a Brookings native, won a pair of events clocking in at 2:39.54 in the 200 IM as well as winning the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:23.05.
Freshman Kylie Poel would win her first career event with a 100 butterfly finish of 1:14.66 nearly beating out teammate Valdez who finish at 1:14.98.
The Jackrabbits next meet will be at the HPER Center Pool on Saturday when they take on the University of South Dakota and St. Louis at 1 p.m. SDSU will then take on St. Louis the next day at home starting at 10 a.m.
