WMU improved to 2-7 on the season, while the Jackrabbits dropped to 1-7.
The Broncos' five-run fourth inning was highlighted by a three-run home run by Kyle Galbraith and a solo shot two batters later by Chris Lewis. WMU scored at least one run in each of the last six innings and finished the game with 20 hits. Grant Simotes led the way with four hits and scored three times.
In addition, SDSU pitchers combined to walk seven batters and struck out only two. Junior left-hander Mike Robinson started and took the loss, allowing five earned runs and nine hits and 3 2/3 innings.
Sophomore Billy Stitz drove in both of the last two runs for the Jackrabbits with a single in the seventh and sacrifice fly in the ninth. Cain and Beau Hanowski each collected two of SDSU's nine hits.
Billy Morrison earned the victory for WMU, striking out five and allowing one run on six hits in six innings.
