TEMPE, Ariz. ? The defending Women's College World Series champion and No. 7 ranked Arizona State Sun Devils rattled-off 12 first inning runs in a 13-0 defeat of South Dakota State on Friday night in Tempe, Ariz., in the first of an eight game, spring break roadtrip for the Jackrabbits.
The loss drops the Jacks to 3-13 on the season, while the defending champs improve to 19-4.
Brittany Postma led off the first inning with a single down the right field line and then advanced to third two batters later on an Ashley Durazo single, but the Jacks could not push a run across.
