FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - Ashley Storm and Greg Vollmer paced the South Dakota State men's and women's cross country squads to 10th and 14th place finishes, respectively, at the Griak Invitational, Saturday. The event was hosted by Minnesota and was ran at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Storm, who came in first for the Jacks for the third-straight meet, crossed the finish line in 22nd place with a time of 22 minutes 42 seconds in the 6K race. Nicole Davis was the second Jackrabbit finisher for the first time this season and placed 35th overall with a time of 23:08.
Kelsey Aune placed 52nd overall while Amanda Frohling placed 68th and Tera Potts finished 77th for the Jacks.
Iowa State won the team standings on the women's side with 18 teams competing.
On the men's side, Vollmer paced SDSU with a 56th place finish and a time of 26:04 in the 8K race. It was his first time this season he led the Jacks.
Marshall Kambestad finished 69th with a time of 26:32 while Greg Beesley came in 84th at 26:49. Anthony Bongard placed 90th and Jake Schneller rounded out the Jacks team scoring with a 95th place finish.
Iowa State also won the men's side with 17 teams competing.
The Jacks return to Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings for the SDSU Classic next Saturday for their only home meet of the year.
