THE SERIES: Sunday's matchup marks the fifth meeting between South Dakota State and Middle Tennessee State in women's basketball, dating back to a 58-56 SDSU victory during the 2004-05 season. The Jackrabbits hold a 3-1 series lead after posting an 87-61 victory on Dec. 13, 2009, at Frost Arena. SDSU's victory last season marked the first time the home team won a game in the series; the Jackrabbits are 2-0 in Murfreesboro and 1-1 at home.
In last year's meeting, the Jackrabbits put together perhaps their most complete performance of the season. SDSU shot 62 percent (31-of-50) from the field, including 9-of-15 from three-point range, en route to the victory. Reserve guard Ashley Eide led five players in double figures for the Jackrabbits with 17 points. Maria Boever and Kristin Rotert each tallied 13, followed by Jennie Sunnarborg with 12 and Jill Young with 11. Rotert and Young each were 3-for-4 on three-point attempts.
All-American Alysha Clark turned in a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Blue Raiders. Brandi Brown added 13.

Overall against Sun Belt opponents, the Jackrabbits have compiled a 5-4 record versus Sun Belt Conference opponents. SDSU will travel to another Sun Belt opponent, Arkansas-Little Rock, on Jan. 4.
