The South Dakota State University women's basketball team will be in search of its first road win of the season as it travels to Kansas State on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup.
Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kan.
The Jackrabbits enter the week with a 3-2 overall record. SDSU is 3-0 at home, but dropped to 0-2 in road contests with a 70-51 defeat Sunday at Middle Tennessee State. Kansas State, meanwhile, is off to a 5-0 start, including a 4-0 mark on its home floor. The Wildcats, who are receiving votes in the national rankings, have already defeated one Summit League opponent this season, downing Western Illinois, 63-53, on Nov. 21.
THE SERIES:Tuesday's matchup will mark the first meeting between Kansas State and South Dakota State in nearly 35 years. Overall, K-State leads the all-time series, 2-1, with all three previous meetings taking place in AIAW Region VI tournament play.
SDSU won the first-ever meeting, 43-34, during the 1972-73 season. The Wildcats came back to earn a 70-40 victory during the 1974-75 season and a 75-41 triumph during the 1975-76 campaign.
Since moving to Division I at the start of the 2004-05 season, the Jackrabbits have compiled a 6-5 record against Big 12 Conference opponents. SDSU's last outing against a Big 12 foe was a 68-57 defeat at Oklahoma in the opening round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
