SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The South Dakota State women's tennis team started their spring season on the right foot Saturday night with a 7-2 victory over the University of Sioux Falls.
No. 2 Megan McDougall picked up a straight sets win, 6-0, 6-1 over Laura Osterloo of USF.
No. 3 Caitlin Brannen and No. 4 Carrie Jansen both defeated their opponents 6-1, 6-0.
Katie Elifson won a hard fought three set match at No. 5 with a 7-5, 4-6, 10-3 victory.
No. 6 Nellie Bloomberg closed out singles with a straight set 6-3, 6-3 win.
In doubles, No. 2 McDougall and Brannen would team up for a 8-3 win, while No 3. Jansen and Bloomberg did the same.
The Jacks (3-0) return to the courts this coming Friday as they travel back to Sioux Falls to take on Augustana.
