"I thought our team did a good job of preparing for South Dakota State. I think tonight you have to look at what our full-court press can do to our opponents. In the half-court it could be an even game but, over 94 feet, we thought we might be able to force some tempo and some turnovers."
Pearl on being concerned about the game after his team practiced well Tuesday
"They had such a good practice yesterday and I said there is something in knowing if you have a bad dress rehearsal, you'll have a good performance. I was concerned they were too sharp, they were too ready. But those guys here know number four counts as much as number five or six."
UWM's Adrian Tigert on not looking ahead to UIC
"UIC wouldn't mean much if we didn't win tonight. I don't think any of us looked ahead, though, because we really enjoy playing together. It is so physically demanding and we just recover and get ready for the next game."
SDSU Head Coach Scott Nagy
"One of our hopes was that they would be flat, but they weren't. I think, when you look at our team, obviously from a talent standpoint right now we aren't there, but in a couple of year we'll have a chance to compete. They played very well. We hoped for them to be flat and they weren't. They played very active and played with a lot of energy. Their group player a lot better than we did."
