Jacks start conference play

KANSAS CITY, Mo, - The 2011 Summit League schedule for the South Dakota State women's tennis team started out with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Oakland on Thursday in Kansas City.

Two of the four singles contests went to a third set, with #2 Brooke Henry losing set one 6-3, before coming back to win the second 7-5. But in the end, Jackie Dinicu from Oakland prevailed winning set three 6-0.

At #3, Bryna Nasenbeny won set one 6-4, but Karen Karoub fought back to take the next two sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-3.

SDSU takes on host UMKC on Friday starting at 2 p.m., followed by Southern Utah on Saturday also at 2 p.m.
