SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The 2011 Summit League slate came to an end for the South Dakota State women's tennis team with a pair of losses in Sioux Falls on Saturday.
The day started with a 4-2 loss to IUPUI. The Jacks got off to a good start by winning the doubles point with an 8-1 win for Jenny Blackburne and Brooke Henry at #1 and an 8-5 victory for the #2 team of Bryna Nasenbeny and Megan McDougall.
The lone Jackrabbit to get a singles point was #1 Blackburne as she disposed of Danielle Haefele in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
SDSU (5-13, 2-6) were shutout by the number one team in the Summit League IPFW (25-3, 8-0) by a score of 4-0 in the evening match.
The best showing for the Jacks was at #4 singles where McDougall lost a first set tiebreaker to Caterina Kiefer 7-6 before their second set was stopped at 2-0.
The final match of the season for SDSU will be against St. Cloud State in Brookings on Friday, April 29th.
