WATERLOO, Iowa -- South Dakota State completed a 1-1 weekend in Iowa with a 7-0 win over Upper Iowa Saturday afternoon.
"We started off slow today," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "We played the best we've played all year in singles all year as we brough focus and intensity."
Jenny Blackburne won No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-4, while Florencia Magni won No. 2 6-1, 6-1. Iasmin Rosa and Ffion Davies won 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0, respectively.
Tiffany Filipovich completed the single's sweep 6-0, 6-1 as the Peacocks defaulted the No. 6 position.
In doubles, Blackburne/Davies won 8-4 and Magni/Souza won 8-5. Once again, UIU defaulted No. 3 singles.
SDSU returns to action March 10 in Orlanda, Fla., vs. Quinnipiac.
