OMAHA, Neb. -- South Dakota State (13-6) defeated Creighton (8-7) by taking two of three double's matches after splitting singles Saturday to win 4-3.
After dropping No. 1 singles, Iasmin Rosa/Beatriz Souza and Ffion Davies/Tacy Haws-Lay both won to win the double's point, which ended up being the deciding factor. The Jacks won by scores of 8-3 and 8-4, respectively.
In singles, Rosa and Ffion Davies claimed wins at the third and fourth positions, while Haws-Lay won at the No. 5 slot. Rosa and Dvies won 6-2, 6-3 and 7-6, 6-2, respectively, while Haws-Lay won by a score of 6-0, 6-2.
The Jacks return to action April 4 at Fort Wayne.
