The South Dakota State equestrian team snapped a three-meet skid on Friday with an 11-9 win over UT-Martin at the DeHaan Equestrian Center in Brookings.
SDSU outscored UTM in three of the four events, and won both hunt seat events by a 3-2 margin to secure the win, which boosts the Jackrabbits to 2-6 on the season, while the Skyhawks fall to 1-4.
"Today was a good way to end the semester and was a much needed win,” head coach Ellie Wilkins said. “We want to congratulate our two MOPs Blair Julia over fences and Nicole in reining. We look forward to the break, but excited as well to return in February."

UTM took home MOP on the flat, but the Jacks got three of the five points, led by Marielle Golden, who extended her SDSU all-time wins record to 19 with a score of 83, which boosts her season record to 5-3. Jacey Chorlton improved to 3-2 with a core of 79 and Natalie Howard to 3-4 with a score of 82.
Nicole Harvey led the Jackrabbit reiners with a score of 71.5, good enough for her to earn her first-career MOP and improve to 3-3 on the season. All-American Mariah Wright moved to 5-1-2 on the year with her win with a score of 69.5, while Makayla Reed also evened her record at 3-3 with a core of 69.
