MILWAUKEE, Wis. --- South Dakota State tied Marquette, 1-1, Sunday in women's soccer action at the Marquette Invitational.

SDSU's record moves to 3-3-1 after this weekend spent at the Marquette Invitational.

Head coach Lang Wedemeyer said, “I am very proud of how the team battled today. We played a very good team and finding a way to get a result was a big step forward in our season.”

Marquette launched a barrage of shots in the match, tallying 26 attempts to nine by the SDSU. Junior goalkeeper Nicole Inskeep made an impressive 11 saves for the Jackrabbits,

Scoring the lone goal for the Jacks was junior midfielder Madison Yueill, notching her second goal of the season. Yueill's goal came on a rebound off a penalty kick early in the second half.

The Golden Eagles came back to tie the game three minutes later on a goal by Morgan Proffitt.

SDSU finished the Marquette Invitational with a 0-1-1 record after dropping a 2-1 overtime decision to Loyola (Chicago) on Friday.

Making the All-Tournament team for the Jackrabbits were senior forward Diana Potterveld and senior defender Dani Patterson.

The Jackrabbits will return to action in Brookings on Friday, Sept. 18 to face Northern Iowa at 6 p.m. at Fishback Soccer Park.
