BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State beat North Dakota, Sunday, 1-0. SDSU's record improves to 4-3-1 and North Dakota falls to 2-5-1.

“With as many injuries we have and all the players playing in new positions, I am really proud of how the team responded with the win today and the weekend overall,” said head coach Lang Wedemeyer.

The Jacks fired 21 shots to North Dakota's eight and was allowed 12 corner kicks in Sunday's game.

After facing a scoreless first half, SDSU came to the second half playing more aggressively and was able to find the back of the net halfway through the second half.

Senior Diana Potterveld of Fort Collins, Colo. scored the winning goal for the Jackrabbits with an assist from Senior Dani Patterson of Des Moines, Iowa. This is Potterveld's second goal of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Nicole Inskeep from Ankeny, Iowa made four saves for the Jacks.

The Jackrabbits travel next weekend to Lawerence, Kan. to play the Jayhawks, Friday Sept. 25, at 7 p.m.
