Summit Second Half Starts at Denver

South?Dakota State wrapped up the first half of Summit League play on Thursday with an 87-76 win over Omaha to get into a crowded field atop The Summit League standings, a field that got even more congested on Friday with an IUPUI win, as the Jaguars join SDSU, Omaha, and Fort Wayne with a 6-2 mark in league play.
Winners of three straight overall and two straight road games, SDSU looks to start distancing itself from the pack on Saturday at Denver, where the Jacks and Pioneers play at 2 p.m. MT, 3 p.m. CT.
The Pioneers closed the first half of league play with a win over South?Dakota on Thursday, and enters the second half of league play with a 3-5 record, which puts them sixth in the standings.
The second half starts where it began for both the Jacks and Pioneers, who opened league play in Brookings on New Year's Day, with SDSU winning the game, 68-59.

DENVER PIONEERS (11-10, 3-5 Summit, 6-5 Home): The Pioneers snapped two game skid on Thursday against South?Dakota to finish the first half of Summit League play with a 3-5 mark, which puts them alone in sixth place in the league standings, two spots ahead of the preseason poll. Â Â
THE SERIES vs. DENVER
SDSU leads the all-time series 8-5, with a 4-1 advantage in Summit League play. The Pioneers won four of the six games in Denver, with a 3-2 edge in games played at Magness Arena.Â
