Omaha's Morgan Stepp won three individual races, leading the Mavericks to a 174.5-123.5 victory over South Dakota State in a women's swimming and diving dual Friday night at the Stanley J. Marshall Center Pool.
Stepp dominated the 200-yard events, winning the 200 butterfly in 2 minutes, 5.69 seconds, the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.82 and the 200 individual medley in 2:07.33.
SDSU opened the dual with a victory in the 200 medley relay as the quartet of Sam Prasher, Kayce Smith, Kristin Erf and Abby Zenner clocked a winning time of 1:47.82.
Prasher, Erf and Zenner were all individual winners for the Jackrabbbits. Prasher and Erf won back-to-back events, claiming the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke with respective times of 59.55 seconds and 1:05.41. Zenner swam her way to victory in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.45 seconds and added a runner-up time of 59.76 seconds in the 100 butterfly. Smith and Erf each contributed a runner-up finish in a breaststroke event; Smith was second in the 100 (1:06.55), with Erf second in the 200 (2:23.46).
Emily Moore rounded out the individual wins for the Jackrabbits, taking first in the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 217.50 points.
Natalie Renshaw (200 freestyle, 200 backstroke) and Kylie Vermeire (500 freestyle, 1,000 freestyle) were two-time individual winners for the Mavericks. Renshaw also swam on Omaha's winning 400 freestyle relay.
The Jackrabbits return to competition Feb. 5-6 at the Minnesota Challenge in Minneapolis.
