Upcoming Event: Men's Basketball versus Mayville State (Exhibition) on October 29, 2025 at 8:30 p.m.

2/5/2016 11:52:00 AM | Men's Basketball
The second half of The Summit League season started with a shakeup at the top, as both Omaha and IUPUI entered the week tied atop the league standings with South Dakota State and Fort Wayne with 7-2 records, but both fell on the road this week, with the Mavericks falling at Western Illinois on Wednesday and the Jaguars falling at Denver on Thursday.
IPFW won in dominating fashion on Thursday at South Dakota to improve to 8-2, a mark the Jackrabbits can equal with a win on Saturday against IUPUI in the 44th Annual Pork Classic in Frost Arena at 7 p.m.
The Jacks, who play just one game this week, last played a week ago, when they hung on for a 67-56 win at Denver, where the Pioneers led for the majority of the game, but a late 9-0 SDSU run put the Jacks in front and secured their fourth straight win and third in a row on the road.
THE OPPONENT
IUPUI JAGUARS (11-14, 7-3 Summit, 4-12 Away): The Jaguars posted 4-11 record in non-league play, and it looked like the season may get away from them, but they opened Summit League play with a convincing win at South Dakota, and entered the week riding a four game winning streak, but saw that streak snapped on Thursday at Denver. IUPUI won a pair of home games last weekend, downing Western Illinois, 69-67, on Friday and then got a Jordan Pickett 3-pointer with two seconds left to beat North Dakota State, 73-72, on Sunday.
THE SERIES vs. IUPUI
SDSU leads the all-time series 12-7, with a 10-7 advantage in Summit League play and a 6-2 edge at Frost Arena. The Jaguars won the first meeting of the season, 74-67, on Jan. 1, in Indianapolis, snapping the Jackrabbits 11 game winning streak in the series.
