KANSAS CITY—The South Dakota State women's soccer team not only battled Missouri State Wednesday in Kansas City, Kan., in its first of two exhibitions, the Jackrabbits dealt with Mother Nature.
SDSU lost 2-0 and had its match interrupted by a storm that forced a 30-minute delay during the two 45-minute halves.
"This was a good exhibition for us, as we really needed a game to get the rust off. We played well for periods, but have a lot of work to do before our opening game," 17th-year head coach
Lang Wedemeyer said. "There are a lot of pieces of the puzzle yet to figure out, but it's coming together slowly."
Senior
Nicole Inskeep allowed a goal in the first half while freshman
Maggie Smither gave up the final goal in the second half.
The Jackrabbits return to action Friday when they take on Northern Colorado at 8 p.m. in Greeley, Colo.
