Women’s Basketball Ranked in Poll

After garnering six votes in the USA Today Coaches preseason poll last week, the South Dakota State women's basketball team was picked fifth Wednesday in the CollegeInsider Mid-Major poll.
The Jackrabbits, who were picked No. 1 in last year's preseason poll, finished 15th at the end of the 2016-17 season.
Five of SDSU's opponents—Drake (3), Green Bay (4), Florida Gulf Coast (8), Western Illinois (21), Northern Iowa (23) and South Dakota (25) were also ranked in the poll.
The Jacks picked up six votes in the Coaches poll Oct. 22. It was the third consecutive year State received votes in the poll.
The Women's Associated Press Top 25 Preseason Poll is released Thursday. Last year, South Dakota State received five votes in the preseason poll.
