MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The South Dakota State men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed day 1 of the Minnesota Challenge on Friday.
On the men's side,
Matthew Carpenter swept the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:40.20.
The team on
Maclaine Johnson,
Geoffrey Longhurst,
Ben Johnson and
Tony Mikrut placed third in the 200 freestyle relay.
For the women,
Kalen Critchley captured third in the 200 IM in 2:13.61.
The Minnesota Challenge consists of 18 teams and hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Competition resumes on Saturday starting at 11 a.m.
