MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The South Dakota State men's swimming team closed its regular-season at the Minnesota Challenge on Saturday.
Senior
Weston Christensen swept the 1,650 freestyle in 16:15.95, his first collegiate first place finish.
Matthew Carpenter claimed fifth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.68 and captured first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:55.83.
Chase Petersen captured a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke in a time of 51.86.
In the 100 breaststroke,
Wyatt Rumrill came in fourth (58.18) and
Geoffrey Longhurst followed close behind with an eighth-place finish (59.10).
Chris Angerhofer placed fourth in the 400 IM (4:16.65), while
Donovan Taylor came in eighth (4:22.20).
The team of Carpenter, Rumrill, Taylor and
Christopher Rumrill captured seventh in the 200 medley relay in 1:36.92).
In diving,
Noah Batenhorst finished eighth in the 3-meter dive with a score of 258.75.
Parker Brown placed second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 286.75 and Batenhorst claimed fourth (264.90).
