MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The South Dakota State women's tennis team fought a hard battle, but it wasn't enough as it fell 5-4 to Cardinal Stritch on Sunday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Jacks took the doubles point, but fell shy in singles.

Iasmin Rosa and
Morgan Brower defeated Alexi Loomis and Natalie Grieve, 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. The duo of
Molly Crum and
Laura Romero claimed the second win in doubles with a 9-7 decision over Emily Kaftan and Jitsupa Sirinit.

Rosa captured the first singles point as the dropped Loomis, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

Crum won the final point for SDSU when she topped Livia Hollosy, 6-1, 7-6 (5).

Maria Laura Velazco and
Emilly Van Dijk came close to winning their matches, but both fell in a third set.

The Jacks return to the court when they face Northern Iowa on Feb. 17 on Grand Forks, N.D. Start time is set for 5p.m.
