      It will be a busy week for the South Dakota State volleyball team as it plays four matches in Illinois.
           SDSU travels east to take on UIC in Chicago Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Flames Athletic Center. It then travels to Bradley for the CEFCU Invitational in Peoria, Ill., this weekend. State plays the Braves Friday at 10 a.m. and Grand Canyon at 3:30 p.m. It then meets UMKC Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
           The Jackrabbits enter the week 1-8 on the season after going 0-3 in the UND Classic this past weekend. SDSU lost to Appalachian State, George Washington and host North Dakota. Senior
Ellie Benson was named to the UND Classic All-Tournament team after averaging 4.0 digs per set.
           UIC enters Wednesday's match sporting a 6-3 record. The Flames finished last weekend with a 4-0 record, going 3-0 at the Bradley-hosted CEFCU Classic. They defeated the Braves twice and Murray State. UIC then beat Chicago State Sept. 10.
           Bradley sits 3-7 on the season after finishing 1-2 in the CEFCU Classic this past weekend. Its lone win came over Murray State.
           Grand Canyon went 0-3 its own tournament this last weekend, losing to Fordham, Gonzaga and Idaho. The Lopes enter the week 4-5 on the season.
           UMKC sits at 4-5 entering the week. The Roos snapped a four-match losing streak, going 2-1 in their own tournament this weekend.

Setting the Scene
South Dakota State continues its eight-match road swing, its longest of the season, and looks to end an eight-match losing streak.

The Jackrabbits are 1-1 in away matches and 0-4 in neutral-site matches so far this season. Overall, State is 25-46 in tournament play since 2011.

The Jackrabbits meet UIC for the first time. It will be the third meeting between State and Bradley. The Braves have won both matches, including last season's. Grand Canyon and the Jacks have each won a match against each other. SDSU leads the UMKC series 10-6.

South Dakota State is in its 52nd season overall and 13th in the Division I era. The Jackrabbits sport an 895-691-8 (.561) all-time record and 174-240 (.420) mark in Division I play.

South Dakota State was picked to finish seventh in The Summit League preseason coaches poll.

The 2017 SDSU volleyball roster features 14 players from nine states. Of the 14 players, two are from South Dakota, four from Iowa, two from Nebraska and one each from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Texas and Wisconsin. By class, the Jacks have one senior, three juniors, three sophomores and seven freshmen.
