After opening the season 3-1, the South Dakota State women's basketball team travels west for the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout in Las Vegas, Friday and Saturday at the South Point Arena.

The Jackrabbits open the tournament Friday at 9:30 p.m. vs. No. 4 Baylor and plays Buffalo Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Jackrabbits picked up their third consecutive win Nov. 15 with a 74-48 win over Creighton.
Macy Miller logged her third consecutive 20-plus point game and sixth career double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Jackrabbits.

Baylor is 4-0 on the season after knocking off Southern Nov. 15, 94-49, in Waco Nov. 15. Buffalo enters the weekend 2-1 after losing 102-82 to No. 3 Oregon Nov. 18 in Eugene. The Bulls play Georgetown Friday.

Noteworthy
- SDSU is 6-4 since 2004-05 in seven tournaments when playing on Thanksgiving weekend.
- The Jacks are making their second trip to Las Vegas to play in a nonleague tournament. State won the UNLV Lady Rebel Round-Up in 2014-15 with victories over Northern Illinois (55-42) and UNLV (65-59).
- SDSU is 20-12 in regular-season tournaments. The last tournament it played in was the Puerto Rico Clasico in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., last year. The Jacks upset NC State, 75-67, and won on a last-second 3-pointer by Madison Guebert to defeat Charlotte, 71-70.
- Fourth-ranked Baylor is the second of three top-25 ranked teams (No. 3 Oregon, No. 21 Marquette) the Jackrabbits will face in their nonleague schedule. SDSU is 0-1, losing to then-No. 19 Marquette Nov. 6 in the season opener.
- The Jackrabbits play their fifth and sixth consecutive teams which played in last year's NCAA Tournament.
- Macy Miller has scored 20-or-more points in her last three games. She averages a Summit League- and Jackrabbit-leading 19.5 points per game going into the weekend. Her scoring average is currently tied for fifth on the single-season chart at SDSU.
- The Jackrabbits will be challenged in the post against Baylor. The Lady Bears have outscored their opponents in the paint 238-45. They are also sixth in the country in scoring offense (93.8 ppg) and second in field goal percentage (.608).
- South Dakota State defeated Central Michigan, the preseason pick to win the Mid-American Conference West, and has an opportunity to defeat Buffalo, the preseason pick for the MAC East.
- Friday's game is the third meeting between South Dakota State and Baylor. The Lady Bears lead the series 2-0. BU won the last game March 24, 2009, 60-58, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Lubbock, Texas.
- The Jackrabbits and Buffalo are meeting for the first time. The game against Bulls is the first of four against first-time opponents in SDSU's nonleague schedule.
