Jacks Fall to Southwest Baptist

BOLIVAR, Mo. – The South Dakota State women's tennis team was upended 7-2 by Southwest Baptist Saturday afternoon.

SDSU falls to 0-11 on the season, while SBU improves to 5-3.

"It was a tough day, the conditions were very tricky for everyone involved," Ffion Davis said. "The women came out pretty apprehensive but we finally settled in to the match. We need to come out stronger in our belief and determination!"

Emilly Van Dijk and Maria Laura Velazco won their No. 3 doubles match 8-5.

Daria Yakovleva captured the lone singles point for the Jacks with a 6-2, 3-6, 14-12 victory at No. 6.

Katerina Tretyakova came close to a win with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 loss at No. 1.
