2018 Summit League Women's Golf Championship |
Three top-three finishes in its last three tournaments has the South Dakota State women's golf team primed and ready for the 2018 Summit League Championship which starts Sunday in Nebraska City, Nebraska.

The 54-hole championship begins play at 8 a.m. Sunday and concludes Tuesday at the par-72, 6,142-yard Arbor Links Golf Course.

The Jackrabbits are four-time runners-up since joining the league. Last year, SDSU lost by six strokes to Denver. Summit League Championship MVP Megan Mingo captured the individual title for the first time in school history, shooting a 222 (69-80-73).

Teresa Toscano, a 2017 Summit League All-Tournament selection, finished third last season and leads the charge for the Jackrabbits in 2018. The sophomore's 73.68 stroke average leads State and ranks second in The Summit League. Toscano has a pair of top-five and three top-10 finishes to go with seven rounds at par or below.

Cassidy Laidlaw has turned in a fantastic freshman season, ranking second on the team and is the league's top rookie with a 75.75 stroke average.

Sydney Bormann has been solid all season and goes into the championship with a 75.96 stroke average. The sophomore won the Lady Thunderbird Invitational and has a top-five finish at the UNO Invitational. Bormann tied for ninth in the 2017 Summit League Championship.

Natcha Srimaneerungroj is playing in her final Summit League Championship. The senior sports a 76.82 stroke average and is one of three Jackrabbits to play all 28 rounds for State. Srimaneerungroj's best finish in the league championship came as a freshman when she tied for eighth.

Magda Kruger is making her first appearance in The Summit League Championship. She enters the tournament with an 80.73 stroke average, but recorded her best outing of the season in the regular-season finale at the Kansas City Shootout, tying for seventh.

The Jackrabbits enter The Summit League Championship with a 302.2 stroke average, second best in the league behind Denver. They also are one of only two teams with three players in the top 10 in stroke average.

The Summit League champion receives an automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Regionals held May 7-9 in California, Texas, Wisconsin and Florida.
