The South Dakota State swimming and diving teams split their Senior Day dual with St. Cloud State Saturday, breaking a longstanding pool record along the way. The men won 175-125 as the women fell 162-138.
In the final event of the meet, the Jackrabbit 'A' squad (Kraft, Miller, B.Johnson, Brenner) won the 800 free relay with a time of 7:05.21. That time breaks the previous mark of 7:08.13, set back in 1982 when it was set by the University of Northern Colorado.
19 Wins
The Jackrabbits won a season-high 19 events, besting the team's previous high of nine at the SDSU Quad-Dual in November. Out of the total 32 events, the men won 11 and the women won eight.
The Jacks won eight consecutive events at one point, spanning from Event 22 (men's 200 breast) to Event 29 (women's 200 IM).
Over the course of the season leading up to this meet, SDSU had won 26 events. As a team, they have now won 45 events this season.
