SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota State swimmer
Trever Brenner, and diver
Joseph Weber were each named Summit League Male Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Brenner earns his first Swimmer of the Week honor after winning four events in Saturday's meet against St. Cloud State, including the 800 free relay (7:05.21) which broke a 1982 Stanley Marshall Pool record.
The freshman also won the 200 free (1:43.12), 500 free (4:47.50) and 200 medley relay (1:35.00). His four wins Saturday put him at a team-leading 11 first-place finishes this season.
Weber earned the honor for the sixth time in his career, and first time this season. The senior won both diving events on Saturday while also setting team season-bests in the 1-Meter (317.70) and 3-Meter (316.88).
On deck for the swimming and diving team, the women's team will travel to Omaha, Neb. for their next meet Friday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. against Omaha before both teams go up against South Dakota on Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. in Vermillion.
