VERMILLION—The South Dakota State women's volleyball team fell to South Dakota in straight sets (22-25, 17-25, 11-25) on Tuesday evening in Vermillion.

The Jackrabbits fell to 6-19 overall and 3-10 in Summit League action, while the Coyotes improved to 24-1 with a perfect 13-0 Summit League mark.

Makenzie Hennen and
Crystal Burk led the offense with 10 kills each, while Burk added 13 digs to complete her sixth double-double this season.
Madison Fay posted 15 assists and
Carly Wedel tallied 11 assists. Defensively,
Tatum Pickar recorded 11 digs and
Anna Nerad led the Jacks with 4 blocks.

Two kills by
Ashlynn Smith paired with four Coyote errors gave the Jackrabbits an early 6-4 advantage in the opening set. USD came back to hold a 21-19 edge when kills from Hennen and
Tori Thompson in addition to a Coyote error tied the score at 22-all. South Dakota scored three straight to take the first set, 25-22.

The Coyotes started out the second set with a 5-0 run and while the Jackrabbits came back to only trail 15-13, USD scored seven unanswered points en route to capturing set two, 25-17.

South Dakota took an early 12-3 lead in the third set. The deficit was too much for the Jackrabbits overcome as the Coyotes completed the sweep with a 25-11 win in the third set.

- The Jackrabbits are now 12-20 all-time against South Dakota
- Earlier this season, SDSU fell to the Coyotes, 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 16-25), at home.
- Crystal Burk recorded her 11th double-double all-time with 10 kills and 13 digs.
