The South Dakota State equestrian team will compete at the 2019 NCEA National Championship, April 17-20 in Waco, Texas.
This will be the third straight year the Jackrabbits have qualified for nationals, extending what had last year been the second back-to-back appearance in program history (2012-2013 and 2017-2018).
"We're very eager to hit the ground running at Nationals and put down competitive rides," said head coach
Ellie Wilkins. "I think we've come a long way and I am excited to see what this team can accomplish this week."
Format
The new format introduced last year will be held again in which six NCEA National Titles and one National Championship Team Title will be awarded.
The titles are National Championship Team Title, National Championship Event Titles (Equitation over Fences, Equitation on the Flat, Horsemanship and Reining) and National Championship Discipline Titles for Hunt Seat and Western.
SDSU will compete in the four Event Championships.
