NCEA ANNOUNCES ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS

WACO, Texas — Sixteen South Dakota State equestrian student-athletes were honored Wednesday as members of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's All-Academic teams and Academic Honor Roll.

Leading the Jackrabbit contingent was senior and Pierre native Adisyn Kuxhaus, who was honored as a member of the NCEA First Team for the third consecutive season. Nine other Jackrabbits were repeat honorees.

The award recipients and criteria are listed below:

NCEA ALL-ACADEMIC FIRST TEAM

Avery Bergan, So., Baldwin City, Kansas (Western);
Grace Gerbus, Sr., Pendleton, Kentucky (Western);
Sarah Gould, Jr., Carmel, Indiana (Jumping Seat);
Adisyn Kuxhaus, Sr., Pierre (Western);
Anna Minich, So., La Porte, Indiana (Western);
Kayla Scherer, Jr., Fort Collins, Colorado (Jumping Seat);
Lillie Wallis, So., Chesterfield, Missouri (Western).

Recipients must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and earned a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.

NCEA ALL-ACADEMIC SECOND TEAM

Sierra Elliott, Jr., Harmony, Florida (Jumping Seat);
Isabelle Malick, So., Colorado Springs, Colorado (Jumping Seat);
Brighton McBride, Sr., Overland Park, Kansas (Western);
Maryn Mead, Jr., Norfolk, Nebraska (Western).

Award winners must have competed in a minimum of 60 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and earned a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.

NCEA ACADEMIC HONORABLE MENTION TEAM

Brooke Borges, Jr., Osceola, Florida (Jumping Seat);
Hannah Dutton, Jr., Mount Vernon, Washington (Western);
Juliana Gullo, Sr., Itasca, Illinois (Jumping Seat);
Kendyl Rudolf, Jr., Zionsville, Indiana (Jumping Seat).

Recipients must have competed in a minimum of 50 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and earned a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.
