Men's basketball adds Noah Freidel

South Dakota State men's basketball head coach Eric Henderson announced the addition of Noah Freidel for the 2019-20 season. After announcing a verbal commitment to SDSU on Twitter last week, Freidel officially signed with the Jackrabbits Thursday.

Freidel averaged 22.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the Tea Titans as a senior, earning Class A All-State First Team honors while being named the 2019 Argus Leader Player of the Year. Freidel tallied 26 points per game on 48.5 percent shooting as a junior en route to 2018 All-State First Team honors, dropping a school-record 47 points in a win over Flandreau.
"We are extremely excited that Noah has decided to continue his academic and basketball career as a Jackrabbit," Henderson said. "To be able to keep the best players in our basketball-rich state is important. Noah's competitive spirit, burning desire to get better and knack for playing his best in big moments are what Jackrabbit fans can look forward to."

Freidel helped the Titans to two Class A State Tournament titles (2017, 2019) and will graduate as the school's all-time leading scorer with over 1,800 career points.

He is part of a recruiting class that includes 2019 NJCAA Player of the Year Doug Wilson, NJCAA All-American Tray Buchanan and High School All-State First Team performers Owen Coburn (Iowa) and Baylor Scheierman (Nebraska).
