Volleyball set for Blue/Yellow Scrimmage Saturday

Jackrabbit fans will have their first glimpse at the 2019 South Dakota State volleyball squad Saturday as the team hosts an intrasquad Blue/Yellow scrimmage. First serve is set for 6 p.m. inside Frost Arena.
"We've worked hard this preseason and are excited to hit the court Saturday night," head coach Nicole Cirillo said. "We're always thankful for Jackrabbit nation's support and look forward to competing in front of them at Frost Arena this season."
2019 team posters will be available and fans will have the opportunity to meet the team after the scrimmage. There will be no live coverage of Saturday's scrimmage.
With #PERFORM as the official hashtag for the 2019 campaign, SDSU looks to take the next step in Cirillo's fifth season. SDSUÂ closed last year with a pair of wins in its final five matches, and seven Jackrabbit returners blend with eight promising newcomers on this year's team. SDSU was tabbed eighth in the Summit League's preseason poll earlier this week, as seniors Ashlynn Smith and Makenzie Hennen were selected as players to watch.
SDSU opens the regular season next weekend (Aug. 30-31) at the EIU Panther Invitational in Charleston, Illinois. The Jacks' schedule features 11 home matches, including the two-day, Comfort Suites University Jackrabbit Invitational (Sept. 20-21) and a Sept. 29 contest at the Sanford Pentagon for SDSU's annual Pink Game.

Season ticket packages are still available through the Jackrabbit Ticket Office for $40, which includes tickets to regular season home matches and a limited number of Jackrabbit mini volleyballs. Single-game tickets are on sale as well. Visit the Jackrabbit Ticket Office online at JackrabbitTickets.com, over the phone at (605) 688-5422, or in person on the first floor of the Stanley J. Marshall Center.
