PALM DESERT, Calif. - The South Dakota State men's golf team finished 16th at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif.

RESULTS

The Jackrabbits finished with 297-299-298—894 (+30). No. 19 Auburn finished first in the elite 21-team field with 842 (-22), while Charlotte came in third at 860 (-4).

"We couldn't finish the round off today," said head golf coach Golf Casey VanDamme. "I saw a lot of great stretches of golf. Jack had a great event. He and his teammates are improving everyday and I am looking forward to the next event!"

Jack Tanner turned in a weekend best round at 2-under-par 70. The freshman finished with a three-round total 214 (-2) to tie for 13th. Jonah Dohrer shot a 75 (+3) today, finishing tied for 60th with 223 (+7).

Jacob Otta turned in the second best round of the day and his best of the weekend with 74 (+2). Sam Batta also factored into the the team score on the final day with 79 (+7). Matthew Schaefer finished with a total of 232 (+16).

South Dakota State is off next week but will return to action March 6-7 when they host the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nev.
