KILDEER, Ill. – The South Dakota State men's golf team finished third at the Kemper Lakes Intercollegiate hosted by Belmont. The Jacks recorded a final round score of 300 (+12), the best of the day in the 12-team field, to bring their tournament total to 901 (+37).
SDSU moved up one spot from fourth after two rounds, passing host Belmont (+44) on the final day. Drake claimed the team title with an 886 (+22) over the course of three rounds, followed by South Dakota at +30.
Ty Adkins led the Jacks with a 75 (+3) in the final round to bring his tournament total to 223 (+7) as he tied for fourth place overall. Adkins moved up one spot on the final day.
Jacob Wilson tied for 10th with a 226 (+10), giving the Jacks two players inside the top 10. Jake Olson carded the best final round for the Jacks with a 72 (even), an 11-shot improvement over his second round, to climb 20 spots into a tie for 27th at 232 (+16).
Caleb Kern also tied for 27th at 232 (+16) after a 76 (+4) in round three. He made three consecutive birdies on holes 10-12. Drew Teeter shot a 77 (+5) in the final round and tied for 32nd at 233 (+17).
Hayden Scott, competing as an individual, tied for 21st with a 230 (+14) after a 78 (+6) in the final round.
