BROOKINGS— Saturday's Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational was highlighted by a new school record, changes to the program's all-time lists and several personal best performances for the Jackrabbits.

While he already owned the school record in pole vault, Trent Francom cleared his previous best mark of 17-05.00 to steal the record from himself, clearing a distance of 17-08.50.

Coby Hilton turned in a pair of personal best performances beginning with a 6.82 mark in the prelims of the 60m dash. The mark ties him at second all-time and is a mere .01 difference from his previous best that had him at third all-time.

Later, Hilton would go on to finish first in the 200m dash with a personal best 21.19. The mark keeps him at second all-time at SDSU, but beats his previous best by .05 seconds.

Reid Pierzinski found his name on the all-time charts, finishing second in the men's 400 with a 48.44 to earn the fourth-best time in school history.

Samuel Coil recorded his second PR of the season. This time, taking silver in the men's weight throw with a mark of 67-03.25. He continues to hold down SDSU's second-best mark of all-time.

Running unattached, Joshua Yeager picked up the new meet record with a time of 8:07.84 in the men's 3000. Yeager's mark is .58 seconds off of the facility record set in the SJAC by Kyle Burdick in 2018.

Tom Breuckman had a standout performance for the Jacks in the same race, turning in a second place finish with a time of 8:21.23 and took over the eighth-best time for SDSU.

On the women's side, freshman Jaiden Boomsma ran a 7.71 in prelims of the women's 60m dash to take over the No. 7 spot at State.

Ellie Friesen won the women's 3000 in 9:44.97 to pick up a new PR and the sixth-best mark in school history. Leah Hansen landed on the list with a 9:45.88 showing, good enough for second in the event and the school's seventh-best time.

OTHER JACKRABBIT PERFORMANCES

Freshman Collette Wolfe finished second in the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.94.

Rich-Ann Archer took second in the women's 200m dash by a time of 25.79.

Hannah Whitbread and Lauren Van Dyke went 1-2 in the women's 400m dash, claiming marks of 57.86 and 55.85, respectively.

Oksana Covey ran in her first event since last year's Summit League Championships, clocking 2:12.16 for third in the women's 800.

Jaymie O'Connor finished second in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.79.

South Dakota State 'A' (Lauren Van Dyke, Hannah Whitbread, Rich-Ann Archer and Oksana Covey) took second in the women's 4x400 with a time of 3:53.53.

Addison Eisenbeisz grabbed bronze with a 5-04.25 high jump mark.

Emma Stewart jumped for 18-01.75 in the women's long jump to take first.

Daniel Clarke won the men's 60m dash in a time of 6.92.

Daniel Burkhalter ran a 1:56.19 to take bronze in the men's 800.

Daniel Clarke and Tre Manning went 1-2 in the men's long jump with marks of 22-10.50 and 2-08.50, respectively.

In the men's mile, Carter Knaus finished in 4:14.80 to take third and pick up a new PR. Michael Schwinghamer followed, taking fifth in a time of 4:16.11 to earn a personal best and Josh Becker also grabbed a PR in the mile with a 4:16.61 clocking.

Ben Olson turned in a third place finish and a time of 8:27.01 in the men's 3000.

Nick Wessels took second with a 8.34 in the men's 60m hurdles.

South Dakota State 'A' (Emmanuel Phoulom-Smith, Cameron Kuil, Pierre Lear and Reid Pierzinski) came in second in a time of 3:21.48

The Jackrabbit 4x800 or Riley Bauer, Daniel Burkhalter, Carter Knaus and Josh Becker finished runner-up with a mark of 8:01.25.

Freshman Matthew Katz took bronze after vaulting 14-11.00.

Unattached Jackrabbit Trey Tiefenthaler finishes third in the men's triple jump with a mark of 45-03.00.
